About

BCEP was founded in April of 2010 by a group of parents who found profound community and family building experiences in local cooperative preschools and wanted to continue being involved in their children’s education.  Currently, we are pursuing three cooperative eduction projects including a Spring/Summer Garden School, an interim home-based cooperative school and our ultimate goal – the creation of a permanent cooperative elementary school for Burien and the surrounding areas.

BCEP is more than an elementary school.  We will ultimately provide a wide range of opportunities for children and adults, including summer programs, parent education, homeschool support and after-school programs.  All of our programs will be centered around a community of families and supporting a diverse cooperative elementary school program.

For information about our Garden School, our interim "Bridge School" or our permanent elementary program, please see our Current Projects page.
